Your birth. Your choice.

Hospitals provide board certified physicians, obstetricians, and life-saving technology in the event of emergencies or general medical interventions.

Birth Centers can be a blend of home and hospital, providing modern medicine and technologies with a midwifery model of care and traditional practices based on your birth plan.

Home Births tailor to your peace, privacy and morals for an empowering birth experience; labor, delivery and postnatal care.

Care Providers

A Tribe’s Doula understands how exciting this new journey can be and that sometimes that excitement can send us into a whirlwind of ideas and distractions. So in the first few months of expectancy, it’s important to understand all of your birthing options. First, we start with the medical care provider(s) in your birth team (because Doulas don’t ‘catch’ babies). Ask yourself a few questions about your goals for this birth and baby and ultimately if those morals and goals align with those of your medical care provider. Considering past and current pregnancies and any health related concerns, ask your potential care provider about their practices and if there are any limitations in achieving your birth goals. If so, it’s okay to speak with other providers to find one that best suits you!

Here are a few options to consider for your Care Provider: Obstetricians/ Gynecologists (OB/Gyn), a Family Physician, Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Birthplace Options

When choosing your Care Provider, remember that your choice of Birth Place and your Care Provider’s access to and comfort in that place is just as important. If you are high risk or likely to request medical intervention, and even if not, your birth place and birth plan hold hand in hand. This entire experience is about a healthy pregnancy, healthy mom and healthy baby. Know your rights and know your options boss lady!
